Exporting cannabis for medical purposes

Israel is stepping forward being a giant medicinal cannabis export.

The Israeli government decision from June 2016 adopted the cannabis reform, drafted by the ministry of health. But it also ordered further exploration of cannabis exportation possibilities. In February 2017, a group of more than 20 parliament members proposed a bill to adjust the “1973 dangerous drugs ordinance” so that medicinal cannabis would be exportable.

The law passed a preliminary reading and is now being prepared for the first reading. Upon passing the first reading, it will be once again prepared for a second and third reading (the last two are consecutive and have no preparations between them). After passing the second and third readings the low will be approved, and so is marijuana exportation from Israel. In the meanwhile, a special inter-ministerial committee led by the ministry of health and the ministry of finance convened, and in August 2017 decided to advise for the exportation of cannabis.

According to the committee, the different economic and regulatory aspects of this kind of export (keeping in mind the 2016 cannabis reform), in relation of the global market, might bare a valuable economic potential. further more, the state of Israel has many advantages in the medical marijuana field. From advanced regulation and R & D,  through rich clinical experience, all the way to ideal climate.
